Nepenthes maribilis var globosa

In the wild, this is a rare variety. There are less than 200 plants split between two colonies on an Island off of the East cost of Thailand.

This Nepenthes maribilis var. globosa was started harvested Feb. 22nd, 2012. The seeds are direct descendants of the N. mirabilis var. globosa from the colonies in Thailand. They should be pretty pure genetically as they are raised for conservation purposes.

This young Nepenthes has been growing indoors on a shelf 14 inches below one T8, 32 watt, cool white florescent light.

The surrounding humidity has been about 65% and the temp around 75F to 80F.

It is growing in long fiber sphagnum moss and watered using rain water from the bottom via the tray method.

The N. mirabilis var globosa produces deep red, squat pitchers with wide wings.

There are a variety of potting mixes that you can find online. This plant is doing well for now in just long fiber sphagnum moss.

SHIPPING: The plant will be shipped bare root, wrapped in sphagnum moss. I do my best to make sure the roots are disturbed as little as possible . This is a very hardy plant, easy to grow under lowland conditions and should pick up right where it left off.

US Only: I ship only to the US using priority mail, 2-3 business days. I will refund you if you are over charged for shipping.
